New photography series.

"Orchid," © Rebecca D. Dillon, February 2008
I recently decided to start photographing fine art again after a very long hiatus. (We're talking close to seven years here.) My first project is to take a series of photographs of things found on the Roanoke Farmer's Market. This photograph is the first in that series.
This photograph of an orchid from Rolling Meadows Farms was taken downtown on an unusually warm day in February. The soft sky background is almost turquoise in color while the petals of the orchid are a soft ivory with a touch of yellow. I think the petals look so buttery soft and yet elegant at the same time. This is a straight shot taken with a Digital Canon Rebel XT. It has not been altered in any way.
If you're are interested in purchasing prints from this up and coming series, they are available for sale in the Paper Arts section of my Online Shop.

Your photo is lovely! Looks like you still have the photography touch! And I love the Farmers Market idea behind the series! Can't wait to see more!
