Fishin' for some pottery.

Sherry Tucciarone has returned to the Roanoke City Market for spring with some lovely new pottery. Recently, she's been experimenting more with surface decoration. Sherry's also been working on mixing her colors for glaze. I'm quite fond of this shallow, fish bowl she has for sale.

I also really like the flower motif and colors of this bowl.

Sherry Tuccairone, who is local to the area, creates unique, wheel thrown and hand built pottery that is both functional and decorative. Her functional stoneware - which includes cups, bowls, pitchers, and platters - is both dishwasher and microwave safe.

Sherry is currently finishing up her Bachelor's from Hollins College. I'm told she'll be going after her MFA next year with an eye toward teaching or non-profit work. You can view a slide show of her current work at IfItsDirt.com. Look for her on the market in downtown Roanoke on Saturdays.
