Love liquid soap but having trouble finding a handmade version? You can make your own handmade liquid soap and not only save money, but use your favorite handmade soap for the recipe. Just one bar of handmade soap can be converted into almost 1 liter of a DIY liquid soap you’re sure to love!
I have heard that finding a handmade liquid soap is difficult. I, for one, tried making a liquid soap after various requests when I used to sell on the Roanoke City Market. However, it just didn’t sell and it’s more tedious to ship. However, you can create your own liquid soap using your favorite bar of handmade soap courtesy of instructions from Savvy Housekeeping. Simply grate a bar of your favorite handmade soap to yield 1 cup of soap flakes. Add water and a bit of glycerin and get to cooking until your soap flakes dissolve. Then allow to cool and pour into containers. For your full ingredient and material list, along with directions for this project, visit Savvy Housekeeping. And be sure to consider the shea butter soaps available from Rebecca’s Soap Delicatessen for your liquid soap recipe.
With one bar of handmade soap and a few other easy to find ingredients, you can also make your own homemade liquid laundry detergent or powdered laundry detergent.
