I used ActuallyOrganic 100% Pure Moroccan Argan Oil to create these luxe bridesmaid favors. This cold pressed argan oil is USDA certified organic and works wonderfully for all of your natural skin care recipes. It’s also great for helping to smooth dry frizzy hair or as a body oil for dry winter skin.

Personally I also love it with a few drops of coffee essential oil mixed in under my eyes to help reduce the appearance under eye puffiness and dark circles! (Also probably great for bridesmaids after that late night bachelorette party!)

Strawberries & Champagne Solid Sugar Scrub Recipe

© Rebecca’s Soap Delicatessen

Ingredients:

1.25 oz. detergent free baby buttermilk soap base
2 oz. refined shea butter
.3 oz. ActuallyOrganic Argan Oil
.3 oz. moringa oil
.25 oz. strawberries and champagne fragrance oil
8 oz. white granulated sugar
red liquid soap colorant, to suit

 Instructions:

You will need two silicone flower chocolate molds (with 15 cavities each) or similar to make these bridesmaid favors. In addition you’ll also need a digital scale to weigh out the ingredients.

This recipe will yield 30 .4 oz. solid sugar scrub cubes and make six jars of bridesmaid favors (assuming you fill each jar with five solid sugar scrub cubes.)

Begin by weighing out the shea butter and soap base. Combine in a double boiler and gently heat until melted.

If you do not have a double boiler, you can use a microwave. You’ll need to heat the shea butter first at 40-50% power until mostly melted then melt the soap base with the shea butter the rest of the way. You do not want to overheat your ingredients so stopping and melting the ingredients as you go is also helpful.

Once melted remove from heat.

Now weigh out the argan and moringa oils along with the fragrance oil and stir into the melted butters and soap base.

Next you’ll want to weigh out the sugar into a large Pyrex measuring cup.

Pour the sugar into the liquid mixture of oils, shea butter, soap and fragrance mixing as you go. Once thoroughly combined use a spatula to spoon the mixture into one mold filling all fifteen cavities. Flatten with the spatula.

With the remaining solid sugar scrub mixture, add 2-4 drops of red liquid soap color until desired color is achieved.

Spoon the pink solid sugar scrub mixture into your second mold so you fill all fifteen cavities with the colored scrub. Flatten with the spatula.(Hint. Place your mold on a cutting board for easy transfer to another location later.)

If desired, transfer your solid sugar scrub cubes to the fridge until they are fully solidified.

Once your solid sugar scrub cubes have set up, carefully remove them from each of the molds’ cavities.

Fill six 4 oz. Clear Glass Paragon Jars with Silver Caps with five solid sugar scrub cubes in alternating colors. I got my glass jars from SKS Bottle & Packaging here. (These also make excellent spice jars!) Then simply tie ribbons around the neck of the jars and you’re done!

DIY Rainbow Soap Favors

© Rebecca’s Soap Delicatessen

Ingredients:

4.8 oz. basic clear melt and pour glycerin soap base
11.5 oz. basic white melt and pour soap base
Stained Glass Liquid Soap Color Sample Set
Turquoise Teal Mica Powder, or similar

Tools & Supplies:

digital scale
Ozera Silicone 6-Cavity Rectangle Soap Mold
Basic Guest Round Silicone Soap Mold
spray bottle filled with isoprophyl (rubbing) alcohol
glass Pyrex measuring cup
shallow glass bowl
utensils for mixing
Chef’s knife
cutting board

Instructions:

I used basic glycerin melt and pour soap bases for my DIY rainbow soap favors as this base tends to set up a LOT more quickly than the natural soap bases reducing the time spent waiting on the soap to set up. You can use a natural soap base however for the very last step, with the final blue layer around the white cloud, I recommend a basic base.

If you’d like to scent your DIY rainbow soap favors, use the recommended amount for your fragrance oil of choice at each step. Avoid using a fragrance oil with vanilla as it will turn your soap brown over time. You should also avoid fragrances with a yellow tint as it will affect the color of your soap – ie. your white cloud may become a yellow-ish one.

You’ll start by making the rainbows for this soap project. Begin by placing the rectangular soap mold onto a cutting board for easy transport.

These DIY rainbow soap favors are easier to make than you might think and they make super cute favors for parties or weddings!

Weigh out .65 oz. of your clear melt and pour soap base. Place the soap in a small Pyrex measuring cup. Heat the soap for about 15 seconds in the microwave, just until soap has melted. Don’t allow the soap to boil. Add 4 drops of the Stained Glass Santa Red Soap Color. Stir, then pour the soap into one cavity of the Ozera soap mold.

Spritz the top of the soap with alcohol to remove any air bubbles.

Place in the refrigerator until the soap has solidified.

Once the soap solidifies you’re ready for the next layer.

Starting with a freshly washed glass Pyrex measuring cup, weigh out .7 oz. of the clear melt and pour soap base. Heat to melt then add 5 drops of the Stained Glass Citrus Orange Soap Color. Stir to combine.

Spritz the top of the previously poured layer of red soap with alcohol, then pour the orange tinted soap on top of the red soap layer. Spritz with alcohol again to remove any soap bubbles.

Refrigerate the soap until the orange layer solidifies.

Repeat the previous steps using .65 oz. of clear melt and pour soap and 7 drops of Stained Glass Lemon Yellow Soap Color.

On top of the yellow layer, add .7 oz. clear melt and pour soap with 4 drops of Stained Glass Forest Green Soap Color.

These DIY rainbow soap favors are easier to make than you might think and they make super cute favors for parties or weddings!

Follow the green soap layer with .7 oz. of clear melt and pour soap and 4 drops of Stained Glass Ocean Blue Soap Color.

Follow the blue soap layer with .7 oz. of clear melt and pour soap and 3 drops of Stained Glass Violet Soap Color.

Finally, add .7 oz. of clear melt and pour with 7 drops of the Stained Glass Violet Soap Color – or purple if you have it – as the final layer in your rainbow soap.

These DIY rainbow soap favors are easier to make than you might think and they make super cute favors for parties or weddings!

Once your rainbow soap bar has fully solidified, carefully remove it from the mold.

These DIY rainbow soap favors are easier to make than you might think and they make super cute favors for parties or weddings!

Using a Chef’s knife, cut the bar of rainbow soap into six equally sized strips.

Set your rainbow soap slices aside.

You’re now ready to make the cloud base for your DIY rainbow soap favors. Place the guest round soap mold on a cutting board for easy transport.

Now weigh out 2.5 oz. of the white melt and pour soap base into a glass Pyrex measuring cup. Heat the soap in the microwave until melted.

These DIY rainbow soap favors are easier to make than you might think and they make super cute favors for parties or weddings!

Pour the white melt and pour soap base equally into each of the mold’s cavities, about 1/3rd of the way full.

Place the mold in the refrigerator, using the cutting board for support, until the soap hardens.

Now remove the soap from the fridge. Spritz the tops of the solidified white melt and pour soap with alcohol.

These DIY rainbow soap favors are easier to make than you might think and they make super cute favors for parties or weddings!

Gently curve six of the rainbow strips into rainbow shapes and place one rainbow into each of the guest soap mold’s cavities.

Weigh out 5 oz. of white melt and pour soap base. Cut into chunks and place inside the glass Pyrex measuring cup.

Melt the soap in the microwave in 30 second increments until melted.

These DIY rainbow soap favors are easier to make than you might think and they make super cute favors for parties or weddings!

Spritz the tops of the white soap base in the mold, then carefully fill all six of the mold’s cavities with the melted soap around the rainbows. Allow the soap to harden in the fridge.

These DIY rainbow soap favors are easier to make than you might think and they make super cute favors for parties or weddings!

Once your DIY rainbow soap favors have hardened, carefully remove them from the mold.

Now melt 4 oz. of white melt and pour soap base in a shallow glass bowl. Add the teal mica powder to the melted base to suit and mix well to combine.

Allow the blue tinted soap to cool slightly, then dip the base of each of the rainbow soaps into the soap. Allow the soap to cool further then dip the soap into the blue soap again.

These DIY rainbow soap favors are easier to make than you might think and they make super cute favors for parties or weddings!

Place the rainbow soaps on parchment or wax paper in between dipping them in the blue soap. Allow them to harden after each dip in the “blue sky” before dipping again.

These DIY rainbow soap favors are easier to make than you might think and they make super cute favors for parties or weddings!

As the blue soap hardens around the white base of the rainbow soaps, you can fold the soap over or add clumps of half hardened blue soap. Then simply re-heat the blue soap again if needed and dip the rainbow soap bases into the blue melted soap again to smooth out the edges of the soap for a smooth finish.

These DIY rainbow soap favors are easier to make than you might think and they make super cute favors for parties or weddings!

Once you’ve reached your desired look, simply allow the soaps to finish solidifying. Then simply package as desired for gifts or party favors.

If you are making my DIY rainbow soap favors to sell, you’ll need to label your soaps appropriately to meet state and federal laws. If you’re unsure about the rules and regulations regarding labeling cosmetics, I highly recommend the book, Soap and Cosmetic Labeling: How to Follow the Rules and Regs Explained in Plain English, by Marie Gale.

Watermelon Soap Recipe

© Rebecca’s Soap Delicatessen

Ingredients:

12 oz. clear melt and pour glycerin soap base
3 oz. white melt and pour glycerin soap base
pink soap liquid or powder soap colorant, of choice
green soap liquid or powder soap colorant, of choice
extra fine green glitter, to suit
.7 oz. watermelon fragrance oil, of choice
poppy seeds, to suit

Tools & Supplies:

Crafter’s Choice Basic Round Silicone Soap Mold
digital scale
2-cup Pyrex measuring cup
mist spray bottle with isopropyl alcohol
graduated plastic transfer pipettes, optional
Chef’s knife (or utility knife)
utensil (for stirring)
cutting board, optional
microwave

Instructions:

This watermelon soap recipe is made in layers. You’ll begin by making the green layer first.

Start by using your digital scale to weigh out 4.5 oz. of the clear melt and pour soap base. Using a Chef’s knife or a utility knife, cut the soap into square chunks and place inside your glass Pyrex measuring cup.

Heat the clear melt and pour soap base in the microwave in 20-30 second increments until melted. (Alternately you’re welcome to use a double boiler.)

Now add a very small amount of your green colorant. If using a liquid soap colorant begin by adding one drop of color. Stir, then increase until desired color is reached. if you’re using a green pigment powder, such as chromium green oxide, add a tiny pinch then stir to ensure the color is fully incorporated. Increase as needed.

Now add the fine green glitter to suit.

Follow by weighing out .2 oz. of the watermelon fragrance oil. (You can use the transfer pipettes to avoid spilling the fragrance as you pour and to avoid accidentally adding more than the amount of fragrance needed.) Stir well to incorporate.

Now place the basic round silicone soap mold onto a cutting board for easy transfer.

Evenly pour the green tinted soap into all six of the mold cavities, then spritz the tops of the soap with alcohol to remove any air bubbles.

Transfer the soap into the refrigerator until it has solidified and set up completely.

Once the green layer of soap has set up, remove the soap from the refrigerator and prepare the middle layer of soap.

Weigh out 3 oz. of white melt and pour soap base. Using a Chef’s knife or a utility knife, cut the soap into square chunks and place inside your glass Pyrex measuring cup.

Heat the white melt and pour soap base in the microwave in 20-30 second increments until melted.

Now weigh out .15 oz. of the watermelon fragrance oil and stir into the melted soap base.

Spritz the tops of the green soaps in your mold with alcohol then evenly pour the white soap base into each of the six mold cavities on top of the green soap you prepared earlier.

Spritz the tops of the white soap you just poured with alcohol to remove any air bubbles, then transfer the soap into the refrigerator until the new layer of soap has solidified and set up completely.

Once the white layer of soap has solidified and set up completely, you’re ready to prepare the final, pink layer of soap.

Weigh out the remaining 7.5 oz. of clear melt and pour soap base. Using a Chef’s knife or a utility knife, cut the soap into square chunks and place inside your glass Pyrex measuring cup.

Heat the clear melt and pour soap base in the microwave in 20-30 second increments until melted.

Now add a very small amount of your pink colorant. If using a liquid soap colorant begin by adding one drop of color. Stir, then increase until desired color is reached. if you’re using a pink pigment powder, such as chromium green oxide, add a tiny pinch then stir to ensure the color is fully incorporated. Increase as needed.

Add the poppy seeds to suit and stir into the soap base.

Now weigh out .35 oz. of the watermelon fragrance oil and stir into the melted soap base.

Spritz the white tops of the soaps in your mold with alcohol then evenly pour the pink soap base into each of the six mold cavities on top of the white soap you prepared earlier.

Spritz the tops of the pink soap base you just poured with alcohol to remove any air bubbles, then transfer the soap into the refrigerator until your final layer of soap has solidified and set up completely.

This easy watermelon soap recipe is perfect for summer and incorporates not only a fun watermelon color theme, but also shimmering cosmetic glitter! They'd look great by any sink or you could also craft a smaller version to gift these as DIY summer party favors.

Once the final layer of soap has solidified, carefully remove your completed watermelon soaps from the mold cavities. Wrap each of the soaps tightly in foodservice film to protect it from moisture. (I specifically use the Bakers & Chefs Foodservice Film as it “sticks” better than regular plastic wrap and works quite well for homemade soaps. It’s typically sold at stores like Sam’s Club and Costco, however you can find it similarly priced online.)

Tip: You never want to freeze your soap. Freezing a clear melt and pour soap base can cause the base to become cloudy. It can also damage your soap mold and shorten it’s lifespan.

Making party or wedding favors?

If you want to make mini 1.5 oz. guest soaps for DIY party favors or wedding favors, you can use the same watermelon soap recipe. However, you will need four Basic Guest Round Silicone Soap Molds. You will fill all of the mold cavities in three of the molds and two of the mold cavities in the fourth mold for twenty guest watermelon soaps.
