Ingredients:

.25 oz. candelilla wax
.75 oz. babassu oil
.25 oz. fractionated coconut oil (or camellia seed oil)
.25 oz. Bulgarian rose floral wax
.2 oz. (lip + eye safe) coral mica
.05 oz. (lip + eye safe) cellini blue mica
.05 oz. (lip + eye safe) super pearly white mica

Instructions:

You will need a digital scale to weigh all of the ingredients for my all-in-one beauty stick recipe.

Begin by weighing out the candelilla wax and babassu oil into a small glass Pyrex measuring cup or similar. Heat in the microwave at 40% power until melted. Alternately you may also use a double boiler. Take care removing your melted ingredients from the microwave as the glass will be hot. I recommend using a towel or pot holder when handling.

Next, weigh out the fractionated coconut oil (or camellia seed oil) and rose wax. (The rose wax gives this all-in-one beauty stick recipe a beautiful light rose fragrance!) Mix these ingredients into the melted candelilla wax and babassu oil until thoroughly combined and the rose wax has melted.

Allow the mixture to cool slightly then weigh out and add the mica powders. Mix well so the mica is fully incorporated into the makeup base.

Now slowly and carefully pour your rose scented all-in-one beauty stick into a container or containers of your choice. I used the 1.5 oz. brown paperboard push up tubes from SKS Bottle & Packaging. (I poured mine a little too hot and it caused a hole down the center. You can avoid this by practicing patience and pouring at a cooler temperature. My bad.)

Once your vegan all-in-one beauty sticks have cooled, simply cap and label them as desired. You download my free PDF printable labels for my rose scented all-in-one beauty sticks here. (These labels are free for personal use only.)

To use your all-in-one beauty sticks, simply apply to eyelids, cheeks, or lips as desired. You can further blend the color with a makeup sponge if you like.

If you are creating your own DIY all-in-one beauty sticks to sell, there’s a lot of important information you should be aware of in order to be FDA compliant in the USA. You can find information on the FDA website regarding the use of color additives in cosmetics here.

In addition, mica-based pearlescent pigments and other composite pigments used in cosmetics are NOT FDA approved at this time. The FDA however is currently exercising discretionary enforcement of these color additives while they are in discussion over regulatory status and safety. You can find further discussion on this at Marie Gale’s blog here.

Natural Handmade Cosmetics Recipe - DIY 2 in 1 Cream Blush and Lip Color

2 in 1 Fuchsia DIY Lip Stain and Cream Blush Recipe

© Rebecca’s Soap Delicatessen

Ingredients:

14 grams beeswax
28 grams 76 degree melt point refined coconut oil
8 grams grapeseed oil
10 drops GMO-free Vitamin E oil
10 drops rosemary extract
8 grams red orange oil locking mica shimmer powder

Supplies:

digital kitchen scale
plastic transfer pipettes
seven – 10g (1/3 oz.) lip balm pots with lids
silicone chocolate flower mold
mixing utensil (a butter knife works great!)

Instructions:

For this recipe you will use a digital scale to weigh out the beeswax, coconut oil, grape seed oil and mica. Start by weighing out the beeswax in a glass pyrex measuring cup, then heat the beeswax in the microwave until melted, about 3 minutes. Carefully remove from microwave using a pot holder or kitchen towel, then stir in 28 grams of coconut oil. If mixture starts to solidify, place back in the microwave and heat for 20-30 seconds more until all ingredients have full melted. Now weigh out the grape seed oil and stir into the wax and coconut oil.

Using a plastic transfer pipette, add ten drops of vitamin E. Repeat with the rosemary extract using a new pipette to prevent cross contamination.

Finally weigh out the mica colorant and stir into the cream blush and lip tint base. Mix well, then slowly pour the base equally into seven of the flower shaped cavities of your silicone mold. (Or simply pour into the lip balm pots if you don’t wish to mold your makeup.) Allow the makeup to harden completely, then remove from mold and place one flower shaped 2 in 1 lip and cheek stain into each of your seven lip balm pots and cap.

This 2 in 1 DIY lip stain and cheek color is simple to make and can be poured directly into lip balm pots or molded into cute flower shapes for gifting!

Allow at least twenty-four hours to pass before using. I don’t know why, but it seems to make a difference on how the makeup looks when applied.  To use, simply add a small amount to cheeks or lips. The resulting product will be a lovely shade of fuchsia on skin with a touch of shimmer. Use less for a lighter, more natural look. Or use more for an intense look. This particular color is not approved for use on eyes.

If you prefer a darker, deeper red or one that is approved for use on eyes, then you can substitute the red orange oil locking mica shimmer powder with a red oxide pigment powder. For a touch of shimmer use 7 grams of red oxide pigment powder and 1 gram of white sparkle pigment powder or diamond dust mica.
