Like clariSEA’s Deep Pore Detox Activated Charcoal Exfoliating Mask, my version is made with no preservatives and all natural ingredients that include kaolin clay, sea salt, mineral salt, calendula and activated charcoal. To make it, simply weigh out all of the ingredients needed and mix! It’s great on acne prone skin, or as a spot treatment when you are experiencing acne breakouts. (I found this worked really well for me during hormone related breakouts.)

Finally, I’ve also created free printable labels for my activated charcoal detox mask recipe. Simply download the free printable labels (found after the recipe) to gift these as DIY bridesmaid gifts so everyone looks pore-fect for the big day! (If you have an upcoming wedding, create an Amazon Wedding Registry! Not only can you save products from other websites to your Amazon Wedding Registry, but you’ll also receive a 10% 0ff coupon good on select items from across Amazon. See their website for details.)

Activated Charcoal Detox Mask Recipe

Ingredients:

2.5 oz. kaolin (white cosmetic) clay
.15 oz. sea salt, fine ground
.1 oz. pink Himalayan (mineral) salt or Celtic sea (mineral blend) salt, fine ground
.1 oz. hardwood activated charcoal powder
.05 oz. calendula flower powder

Instructions:

Using a digital scale, weigh out all the ingredients and combine in a glass bowl. Mix well to combine.

Pour the activated charcoal detox mask into one 8 oz. jar. I specifically used a clear plastic 8 oz. low profile jar and a 200 mL cosmetic style jar from Infinity Jars for this project. (My activated charcoal detox mask recipe fills one 8 oz. container. To fill additional jars, double the recipe as needed.) Alternately, you can fill two 4 oz. jars with this recipe. I also like the 4 oz. glass salve jars for this recipe.

To use your activated charcoal detox mask, simply combine 1 Tablespoon of the mask with 1/2 Tablespoon of water in your hand to form a paste. Then massage the mask onto your skin in a circular motion. Rinse the mask off with warm water once it has dried.

Alternately, rather than mixing your mask with water, you can also mix your mask with aloe vera juice, plain Greek yogurt or rosehip seed oil to suit your skin’s individual needs.

Side Notes:

For more sensitive skin, reduce the amount of salt to no more than .2 oz. total. Additionally, if you have calendula petals, you can simply run them through a coffee grinder to create a powder.

Additionally, while clariSEA’s Deep Pore Detox Activated Charcoal Exfoliating Mask contains bamboo activated charcoal powder, I chose to use hardwood activated charcoal powder from Rocky Mountain Essentials. It’s both made and packaged in the USA and works well for detoxification and use as an ingredient in high end cosmetic products.

Free Printable Labels.

You can download the free printable activated charcoal mask labels for this recipe here. For the clear plastic low profile jar, I printed my labels onto a full size clear gloss inkjet label sheet. For the beautiful, deep ultraviolet (these jars appear black) light proof jar, I printed my labels onto a full size white label sheet. I acquired both types of my label sheets from WorldLabel who sells quality labels in bulk at reasonable prices.

Ingredients:

1 Tablespoon rose petals
1 Tablespoon lavender flowers
1 Tablespoon chamomile flowers
1 Tablespoon comfrey leaf

Instructions:

For this herbal facial steam recipe I used a packages of two .5 oz. jars manufactured from Art-C® Embellishments. These can easily be found in most craft stores in the scrapbooking section. Not only did I think these jars were super cute, but they’re also a great size for gifting these DIY herbal facial steams especially as DIY wedding favors or bridesmaid gifts!

Don’t feel limited by these jars however. You can increase the recipe for this DIY herbal facial steam and use a larger jar for your personal use, or buy other jars in a size or quantity that best suits your needs. Mountain Rose Herbs carries glass salve jars in 1 oz. up to 4 oz. as well as 2 oz. spice bottles with a cork top. For larger preparations they also sell larger wide mouth with cork tops.

To make this DIY herbal facial steam, use a measuring spoon to measure out the ingredients into a glass bowl. Mix well to combine, then use a funnel to add the herbs to your containers. This herbal facial steam recipe fills four .5 oz. jars.

To use simply empty contents of one jar into 2 cups of water on the stove. Bring the water to a simmer, then remove from heat. Tent a towel over your head over top of the pot of water and herbs for 5-7 minutes inhaling deeply.

Home Spa DIY - Natural Rhassoul Red Clay Face Mask Recipe - Perfect Homemade Beauty Gift for Mother's Day, Bridesmaids Gifts, or Stocking Stuffers - Free Printable Labels for Gifting

I created this natural Rhassoul clay mask recipe especially for those with maturing, dry and even sensitive skin. I use red Rhassoul clay as it’s suitable for all skin types. Mineral rich, cleansing and detoxifying, Rhassoul clay helps to rebalance dry flaky or mature skin, improve texture and elasticity and can help those suffering from eczema or psoriasis. It can also help to reduce those under eye bags. I combined the clay with botanical ingredients and natural essential oils as well as soothing colloidal oatmeal for the perfect mask for just about everyone.
