My anti-aging yogurt face mask recipe contains all natural ingredients that help to moisturize both aging and/or sensitive skin while also helping to prevent acne and premature aging. It can also help to calm irritated skin and reduce discoloration. Another plus? It’s incredibly easy to make!

And, because my yogurt face mask recipe is a dry mask, it has a much longer shelf life than a wet mask would.

Anti-Aging Yogurt Face Mask Recipe

Ingredients:

1 oz. bentonite clay (acne prone skin) or 1 oz. Rhassoul Clay (sensitive or dry skin)
.5 oz. yogurt powder
.5 oz. rose kaolin clay
.5 oz. marshmallow root powder
.25 oz. corn silk powder
1 Tablespoon calendula petals
1 mL (about 20 drops) frankincense (Boswellia Serrata) essential oil

Instructions:

Using a digital scale, weigh out all of the dry ingredients into a medium sized glass bowl or 2-cup Pyrex measuring cup.

Whisk dry ingredients together until thoroughly mixed.

Now, measure out the frankincense essential oil using a graduated plastic transfer pipette.

Add the essential oil to your yogurt mask mixture a drop at a time whisking as you go.

Once the essential oil has been evenly distributed throughout the mask you can package your yogurt face mask into the container(s) of your choice.

Pictured here are a 9 oz. clear straight sided glass jar with silver metal lug cap – this yogurt face mask recipe will fill this jar about halfway full – a 2.3 oz. clear glass thick wall cosmetic jar with black lined cap and a plastic test tube with a cork stopper.

To use simply combine about a Tablespoon of the dry face mask with enough milk, water, honey or a carrier oil of your choice to form a paste. Then apply to freshly cleansed skin avoiding the eye area. Leave on 3-5 minutes, then rinse and gently pat dry.

Follow with your favorite toner and moisturizer. (Right now I’m using Michael Todd’s Blue Green Algae Balancing Toner that I discovered via my Birchbox subscription and Body Merry’s Retinol Surge Moisturizer.)

Created as a dupe to the clariSEA Deep Pore Detox Activated Charcoal Exfoliating Mask, this activated charcoal detox mask recipe draws out impurities, clears up blackheads and removes excess oil for reduced breakouts and faster healing times.

Like clariSEA’s Deep Pore Detox Activated Charcoal Exfoliating Mask, my version is made with no preservatives and all natural ingredients that include kaolin clay, sea salt, mineral salt, calendula and activated charcoal. To make it, simply weigh out all of the ingredients needed and mix! It’s great on acne prone skin, or as a spot treatment when you are experiencing acne breakouts. (I found this worked really well for me during hormone related breakouts.)

Finally, I’ve also created free printable labels for my activated charcoal detox mask recipe. Simply download the free printable labels (found after the recipe) to gift these as DIY bridesmaid gifts so everyone looks pore-fect for the big day! Activated Charcoal Detox Mask Recipe

© Rebecca’s Soap Delicatessen

Ingredients:

2.5 oz. kaolin (white cosmetic) clay
.15 oz. sea salt, fine ground
.1 oz. pink Himalayan (mineral) salt or Celtic sea (mineral blend) salt, fine ground
.1 oz. hardwood activated charcoal powder
.05 oz. calendula flower powder

Instructions:

Using a digital scale, weigh out all the ingredients and combine in a glass bowl. Mix well to combine.

Pour the activated charcoal detox mask into one 8 oz. jar. I specifically used a clear plastic 8 oz. low profile jar and a 200 mL cosmetic style jar from Infinity Jars for this project. (My activated charcoal detox mask recipe fills one 8 oz. container. To fill additional jars, double the recipe as needed.) Alternately, you can fill two 4 oz. jars with this recipe. I also like the 4 oz. glass salve jars for this recipe.

To use your activated charcoal detox mask, simply combine 1 Tablespoon of the mask with 1/2 Tablespoon of water in your hand to form a paste. Then massage the mask onto your skin in a circular motion. Rinse the mask off with warm water once it has dried.

Alternately, rather than mixing your mask with water, you can also mix your mask with aloe vera juice, plain Greek yogurt or rosehip seed oil to suit your skin’s individual needs.

Side Notes:

For more sensitive skin, reduce the amount of salt to no more than .2 oz. total. Additionally, if you have calendula petals, you can simply run them through a coffee grinder to create a powder.

Additionally, while clariSEA’s Deep Pore Detox Activated Charcoal Exfoliating Mask contains bamboo activated charcoal powder, I chose to use hardwood activated charcoal powder from Rocky Mountain Essentials. It’s both made and packaged in the USA and works well for detoxification and use as an ingredient in high end cosmetic products.

Free Printable Labels.

You can download the free printable activated charcoal mask labels for this recipe here. For the clear plastic low profile jar, I printed my labels onto a full size clear gloss inkjet label sheet. For the beautiful, deep ultraviolet (these jars appear black) light proof jar, I printed my labels onto a full size white label sheet. I acquired both types of my label sheets from WorldLabel who sells quality labels in bulk at reasonable prices.
