Foot Repair Salve Recipe! This natural DIY foot repair salve recipe contains neem oil prized for its strong antibacterial and antifungal properties that help to promote healing.

If your feet are damaged or it toenail fungus or even athlete’s foot seems to be an ongoing problem for you then this natural foot repair salve recipe is just what your feet need!

This natural foot repair salve recipe contains neem oil prized for its strong antibacterial and antifungal properties that help to promote healing and solve ongoing foot and toenail issues. And, because neem oil is not the most pleasant smelling carrier oil – it has a natural odor reminiscent of a nutty garlic like smell – I’ve added eucalyptus essential oil and your choice of either rosemary or peppermint essential oils that mask the fragrance of the neem oil.

In addition I’ve also used rosehip seed oil in this foot repair salve recipe for it’s hydrating and anti-aging properties. As rosehip seed oil is a “dry oil” it helps to keep this salve from feeling greasy and heavy after application as well as to absorb more quickly.

Natural Foot Repair Salve Recipe

Ingredients:

.55 oz. beeswax
.45 oz. cocoa butter
.6 oz. refined (76° melt point) coconut oil
.6 oz. neem oil
.6 oz. rosehip seed oil
.1 oz. non-GMO vitamin E oil
1.5 mL eucalyptus essential oil
.5 mL rosemary (or peppermint) essential oil

Instructions:

To make this natural foot repair salve recipe begin by weighing out the beeswax and cocoa butter using a digital scale. Combine in a double boiler or a small glass Pyrex measuring cup. Heat in a double boiler until melted. Or, if using a microwave, heat in the Pyrex measuring cup at 50% power until melted.

Remove the melted beeswax and cocoa butter from heat. Then weigh out the coconut oil, neem oil, rosehip seed oil and vitamin E oil and stir into the melted beeswax and cocoa butter. Mix until all the additional ingredients have liquified.

Using a graduated transfer pipette now measure out the essential oils and add to the foot repair salve. Stir again to fully incorporate the essential oils then pour into into one 4 oz. tin. (You can purchase tins in bulk from SKS Bottle & Packaging. I actually used their cool 6 oz. foot candle tin here which leaves a bit of space at the top.)

Place the foot repair salve in the refrigerator until it hardens completely, then label as desired.

To use simply apply the foot repair salve to feet once a day to maintain healthier feet or twice a day for damaged feet until condition is resolved. If you continue to experience problems with your feet, you may want to see a dr. or dermatologist.

This natural peppermint foot cream recipe is made with natural shea butter, a proven moisturizer and skin protectant, peppermint essential oil to refresh your feet and anti-fungal tea tree oil to keep your tootsies in tip top shape.

This natural peppermint foot cream recipe is made with natural shea butter, a proven moisturizer and skin protectant, peppermint essential oil to refresh your feet and anti-fungal tea tree oil to keep your tootsies in tip top shape. In addition it also contains cocoa butter, sunflower oil and pomegranate seed oil.

This natural peppermint foot cream recipe is very easy to make yet will yield professional results. Apply at night and cover with socks for extra skin softening power. You can also add a small amount of lanolin to this peppermint foot cream recipe if desired for extra protection for severely dry or cracked feet. Alternately you can also try subbing the peppermint essential oil with a lesser amount of menthol crystals for a truly cooling sensation.

Shea butter is a natural fat that is extracted from the fruit of the Karite Tree found in West Africa. It is a wonderful moisturizer and emollient, and also has anti-inflammatory properties. Apply liberally to the skin to treat scars, eczema, burns, rashes, acne, severely dry skin, chapped lips, stretch marks, and wrinkles.

So what is shea butter?

Shea butter is a natural fat that is extracted from the fruit of the Karite Tree found in West Africa and has been used for centuries in Africa for its moisturizing and healing properties as well as to protect and condition damaged skin. Shea butter is naturally rich in Vitamins A and E, essential fatty acids and other vitamins and minerals, and, in addition to its moisturizing and healing properties, shea butter also offers a low level of UV protection (approximately SPF-6).

Used alone, shea butter makes a great summer moisturizer to use both before and after sun exposure to reduce the possibility of the skin peeling or dryness. You can use shea butter liberally to the skin to treat scars, eczema, burns, rashes, acne, severely dry skin, chapped lips, stretch marks, and wrinkles. Typically, when stored properly shea butter has a shelf life of about two years.

What are the benefits of cocoa butter?

Cocoa butter adds a rich, creamy, and thick consistency to lotions and creams and is typically used to help reduce dryness. Rich in natural antioxidants, cocoa butter also contains high amounts of Vitamin E as well as a number of other vitamins and minerals.

What’s the story with pomegranate seed oil?

Pomegranate seed oil is a deeply penetrating oil derived from the cold pressed organic seeds of pomegranate fruit. It’s been found to be deeply nourishing to the outer epidermal layer of skin and also offers powerful anti-oxidant benefits for numerous skin ailments. In addition pomegranate seed oil contains high levels of anti-oxidants known to fight free radicals and skin aging. It is also a potent source of punicic and ellagic acids. This oil is makes a wonderful addition to skin care recipes but can also be used as a stand-alone product to help nourish and develop healthy skin cell regeneration.

How is sunflower oil beneficial?

Sunflower oil is an easily accessible and affordable carrier oil option. It’s high oleic acids as well as vitamins A, D, and E, lecithin, and unsaturated fatty acids. When used in skin care recipes it is deeply nourishing and and skin conditioning and is highly recommended for recipes designed to treat dry, weathered, aged, and damaged skin.

Peppermint Foot Cream Recipe

Ingredients:

1 oz. cocoa butter
4 oz. shea butter
1.5 oz. sunflower oil (or other carrier oil)
.5 oz. pomegranate seed oil
.1 oz. peppermint essential oil
.04 oz. (approximately 1.1 grams) tea tree oil

Instructions:

You’ll need to weigh all of your ingredients for this natural peppermint foot cream recipe so you will need a digital scale. Begin by weighing out both the cocoa butter and shea butter and heat until melted in either a double boiler on the stove or at reduced power in the microwave.

Once the butters have melted, weigh out the remaining ingredients and stir into the melted butters. Mix well to ensure the ingredients are incorporated throughout the peppermint foot cream then pour into a 6 oz. glass or plastic jar. Carefully screw on the lid of your jar then set in the fridge to cool until the peppermint foot cream has completely solidified.

Natural Home Remedy for Toenail Fungus - DIY Natural Chemical Free Anti-Fungal Toenail Treatment

Sandal season is finally here. Unfortunately if you’re feet don’t look fabulous you may be tempted to skip that cute pair of new sandals and hide your feet instead. One common problem with feet is toenail fungus. Untreated this condition will persist and can spread to unaffected, healthy nails. Over the counter topical anti-fungal toenail medicine can be expensive and it’s chemical makeup can be a bit sketchy. So I’ve come up with a natural home remedy for a toenail fungus treatment to help clear up toenail fungus and keep it from it coming back.

Keep in mind that getting rid of toenail fungus is not a quick process no matter what product you use and it’s not completely gone until your nails have grown out completely healthy and there’s nothing left of the yellow, cracked nail that preceded it. This can take two months or more depending on how quickly your nails grow.

For this natural home remedy I use neem oil for it’s highly potent anti-fungal properties. It’s also anti-viral which is why I used it in a recent recipe for a cold sore therapy lip balm. I found that it works much much faster than tea tree oil and is no where near as drying. However, as tea tree, like neem oil, is naturally anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial I’ve also included it as an ingredient.

This toenail fungus treatment recipe is simple to make and has a long shelf life. Simply apply to affected toenails twice per day until condition clears completely and healthy nails have grown back in. I recommend using an amber glass bottle with a dropper for your anti-fungal toenail treatment.

Natural Anti-Fungal Toenail Fungus Treatment Recipe

Ingredients:

.75 oz. neem oil
1 ml tea tree oil
3 drops lavender essential oil
3 drops fir needle essential oil
3 drops peppermint essential oil

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients in a one ounce amber glass bottle with an eye dropper. Shake before each use and apply to each affected toenail morning and night until condition clears completely. Continue to use several times a week to keep toes fungus free or use a natural salve or cream with neem oil in it.

While neem oil can be applied directly to skin, I don’t recommend this for anything except your nails due to the high content of tea tree oil. However, if you want a super speedy cold sore home remedy, reduce the tea tree oil to 3 drops and apply solution directly to cold sore and it will literally almost disappear overnight.

For other natural foot treatments, be sure to also try my recipes for my natural exfoliating foot scrub and my rosemary and neem oil foot salve (to keep feet soft and fungus free!) or lanolin and neem foot salve. My neem oil foot salves are also great for those prone to infections on their feet or around toes. I gifted my grandmother, who has diabetes, some of my lanolin and neem foot salve for Christmas this past year and her doctor was amazed at how quickly it cleared up an infection she had on her foot. However, you should always consult your physician first if you have any ongoing medical issues or are pregnant or nursing. (My rosemary and neem foot salve contains comfrey which should NOT be used by pregnant women.)

It’s perfect for dry and even cracked feet and helps to prevent fungal growth and infections caused by diabetes or ingrown toenails. This handy little homemade foot salve recipe is made using the same calendula, comfrey and plantain infused olive oil as my natural homemade black drawing salve recipe so don’t be afraid to make up more of the herb infused oil for this recipe than you need.

Natural Rosemary & Neem Oil Foot Salve Recipe

Ingredients:

4 oz. pure lanolin
1 oz. raw beeswax
1.5 oz. olive oil infused with calendula flowers, plantain leaves & comfrey leaves
.5 oz. shea butter
.25 oz. cocoa butter
1/2 teaspoon neem oil
1/4 teaspoon sea buckthorn oil
1 mL vitamin E oil
1 mL lavender essential oil
1 mL rosemary essential oil
1 mL fir needle essential oil
1 mL tea tree oil
1 mL rosemary extract

Instructions:

Begin by making your herb infused olive oil. To do this gather the plantain leaves, calendula flowers and comfrey leaves and place desired amount inside a mason jar. Cover the herbs with olive oil and tightly close the container. Keep in a cool, dark location turning occasionally for 4-6 weeks. To hasten this process, place the mason jar of oil and herbs in a pot filled about 2/3 of the way full with water. Heat on the stove on warm to low for 3-4 hours, then remove from heat and allow to cool. Once you’ve infused the olive oil with the botanicals, strain the oil through cheesecloth back into your mason jar.

After you have your infused oil you are ready to make your foot salve.

Start by weighing out the beeswax and cocoa butter using a digital scale and placing into a double boiler and heat. Once these ingredients are 3/4 of the way melted, weigh out the shea butter and lanolin and add into the double boiler. Continue heating until all of the contents have melted completely, then weigh out the infused herbal olive oil and mix into the pot. Remove from heat.

Using measuring spoons, measure out the neem oil and sea buckthorn oil and add to the salve base. Then with a fresh graduated transfer pipette for each ingredient measure out and add the remaining ingredients. Mix well, then pour into glass salve jars or tins and allow to cool completely.
