Begin by weighing out the shea butter and kokum butter into a small glass Pyrex measuring cup or a glass bowl.

Heat the butters in the microwave at 40% until almost fully melted. Then remove and stir until the rest of the kokum butter melts fully.

Next, weigh out the glycerin and safflower oil and stir into the melted butters. Set aside to cool down.

In a separate large 8-cup glass Pyrex measuring cup or large glass bowl, weigh out the combine the baking soda, citric acid, SLSA, kaolin clay and xanthan gum powder. (I highly recommend wearing a face protection mask for this step.)

Using a teaspoon measuring spoon, measure out one teaspoon of pink mica powder and add to the bowl of dry ingredients. Use a fork to combine the dry ingredients together, mixing well to ensure that all of the dry ingredients are evenly incorporated throughout. Set aside.

Now prepare your workspace for creating your moon cake bubble bars. Lay a piece of parchment paper onto a cutting board or cookie sheet. Choose the pattern you’d like to use for your moon cake mold and insert it into the press. Then add some glitter to a small bowl or plate.

Once your wet ingredients have cooled, but not started to solidify, weigh out the stir in the fragrance oil.

Now slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing as you go, until the dry ingredients are evenly coated. Dust the inside of your moon cake mold with some of the glitter. Then take a scoop of the bubble bar mix and press one side into the glitter.

Fill the mooncake mold with the bubble bar dough, inserting the glitter side first until it’s filled. Remove any excess dough from the mold, then press out the bubble bar onto your covered work surface.

Working quickly, repeat this process until you’ve made all nine bubble bars. Then pop your bubble bars in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes to quickly cool them off and to help the kokum butter solidify.

Once cool, remove the moon cake bubbles bars from the freezer, then set aside in a cool dry location to dry – about one to two days. Then wrap and label your fairy dusted moon cake bubble bars as desired for personal use or gifting.
