Homemade Green Tea and Mint Sugar Scrub Recipe - Natural Bath and Beauty
Give skin a weekly – or even daily – exfoliating scrub for naturally beautiful skin as we move into spring with this DIY mint and green tea body scrub recipe (pictured above) via Go Make Me. It’s made with an exfoliating combination of real tea, sugar and Epsom salts and is naturally scented with just a touch of spearmint essential oil. But don’t let that limit you. You can substitute just about any skin safe essential oil or fragrance oil for the spearmint essential oil in the recipe.

COFFEE BODY SCRUB
Recipe courtesy of SpaIndex.com: Guide to Spas

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups of coarsely ground coffee beans*
1/2 cup raw sugar or sea salt
2-3 tablespoons massage oil

DIRECTIONS:

Mix all ingredients together. Take a hot shower to moisten your skin and open your pores. Using wide, circular motions, rub the coffee exfoliant onto your skin with strong, even pressure. Shower off, pat skin dry, and apply a thin layer of your favorite body lotion.
*We’ve tried this with used coffee grounds from our coffee maker and it worked just fine. After all, you’re after the exfoliating effect and the fact you’ve used the grounds to brew coffee doesn’t lessen this effect.  It also makes them a tad softer.  Consider it a new form of composting and recycling!
