What you’ll need:

Large clear glass globe antique bronze ring (33mm diameter globe/25mm diameter opening)
washi tape (to hold star in place while it dries)
Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mirrored Stars (most craft stores have these)
E6000 glue/craft adhesive
fine colored glitter of choice
glitter snow

What you do:

I was not able to find the glass globe rings locally at any of the three craft stores in my area so I purchased mine online from Ingredients for Lovely on Etsy as she’s based in the USA.

How to make a starry DIY snow globe ring for Christmas.
Begin by putting a small amount of E6000 glue inside the base of the ring avoiding the edge around the diameter. Dust lightly with glitter snow then place one of the largest of the stars from your mirrored stars pack in the very center of the ring base. Hold in place then gently apply washi tape to the ring to keep it standing straight up and down while it dries. Pop your ring into cone of baker’s twine or whatever’s handy to hold the ring up and keep it from falling.

Once the glue has dried carefully remove the washi tape. Apply more E6000 glue around the base of the star then sprinkle with more glitter snow. This will help to stabilize it further so it doesn’t come loose during wear.

Now add two are three of the smallest mirrored stars to the inside of the glass globe along with some glitter snow and a tiny bit of colored glitter. I used a fine blue glitter.

Now add a small amount of E6000 glue around the opening of the glass globe and press it onto the ring base. Wrap washi tape around the globe and onto the ring base to hold the two pieces together. Allow to dry completely.

Once the glue has fully dried carefully remove the washi tape. And it’s done!

Now all that’s left is to wear your creation! Shake it up to see the snow flutter and cling to different parts of the star and glass.

How to make a DIY terrarium ring. You can also use the same jewelry components to make DIY terrarium rings. For this mushroom terrarium ring I used three mushroom miniatures from the floral department of my local craft store. I simply twisted the bottom wires together and circled them together then glued them to the ring base with E6000. Once dry I also glued some preserved reindeer moss to the moss to cover the wires before gluing on the globe. You could always add glitter to this one too!

What you’ll need:

glass mason jar or bail jar – I found mine at Joanne’s for $1.49
miniature Christmas buttons or miniature embellishments
bottle brush tree
glitter snow
E6000® Glue/Craft Adhesive
toothpick

What you do:

I purchased the larger of the two bottle brush trees I found. (These are typically in the dollhouse miniatures section of the store and were the most expensive component. Afterwards I realized I could purchase multi-packs of bottle brush trees online at a much better price, some of which are already decorated for you.) As the tree I bought was a wee bit tall for the jar I’d chosen, I used a pair of scissors to first cut off the wood base of the tree to shorten it a bit.

Next I dipped a toothpick in E6000 glue and used it to adhere the buttons I had selected to the tree on all sides. Then I turned the tree upside down and place a generous amount of glue on the base of the tree and then pressed it firmly onto the bottom of the jar.

Finally I added the glitter snow on and around the tree. I did this while the glue was still a bit wet so some would stick to the tree around where the ornaments were placed and at the base of the tree.

And that’s it! Now all that’s left to is to find a place in your own for your new treasure. For more great DIY Christmas crafts,  project ideas and homemade Christmas gifts, be sure to follow my boards on Pinterest!

DIY Handmade Gingerbread Man Snow Globe Soap - Cute Homemade Stocking Stuffer Gift Idea

DIY Holiday Gingerbread Men Snow Globe Soaps

Recipe from Wholesale Supplies Plus

Ingredients:

10.5 oz. Clear Melt & Pour Soap Base
1.5 oz. White Melt & Pour Soap Base
1 teaspoon Matte American Red Liquid Pigment
1 teaspoon Super Sparkle Iridescent Glitter
10 ml Peppermint Stick Fragrance Oil
Rubbing Alcohol
10 Mini Gingerbread Men Toys

Supplies & Equipment:

Cookie Sheet or Cutting Board
2 – Cake Pop Silicone Molds
Mixing Spoon
Plastic Transfer Pipette
Digital Kitchen Scale
Knife or Soap Cutter
2 – 2 Cup or larger Pyrex Measuring Cups
Microwave
Spray Bottle

Instructions:

This recipe yields 10 gingerbread snow globe soaps, however if you purchase the snow globe kit you can actually make up to 12 by slightly increasing the recipe. (The gingerbread men are sold in packs of twelve.) You can make 8 snow globes with one cake pop silicone mold in two stages – as it only has 8 cavities – or you can make them all at once if you have two of these molds.

Start by filling a small spray bottle with rubbing alcohol. You will be using this to spritz on after each layer of soap to prevent bubbles and help the layers adhere to one another. You’ll also want to place your silicone mold onto a cookie sheet or cutting board in case you need to move the soaps while they are still setting up inside the mold.

Now begin making your soaps by first weighing out the clear melt & pour soap base. Cut it into chunks with a knife or soap cutter then melt in the microwave just until melted. This melt & pour soap base melts really fast – under a minute! – so watch it carefully. Once melted, measure out the Peppermint Stick Fragrance Oil with a plastic transfer pipette and stir into the soap base. Measure out the glitter and stir it in as well.

Now place one gingerbread man into each of the mold cavities and slowly pour the melted soap base into each cavity. Leave room around the lip of the mold so there is room to add the “snow” and snow globe base. Once you have filled each cavity equally with soap, spritz the top of the soaps with alcohol and allow to set up. (This base will set up fairly quickly if not overheated. Just don’t put it in the freezer or it will cloud your clear soap base.) Set the remaining soap base aside for use later.

Once your soap has solidified, weigh out and melt the white melt & pour soap base in a second measuring cup. Spritz the tops of the solidified soap again with alcohol then slowly pour the white soap evenly in each cavity. Spritz with alcohol and allow to set up.

Once the new layer of soap has solidified, re-melt the clear soap with fragrance and glitter. Next, Stir in just enough red pigment to created a deep red color. Spritz the molded soaps with alcohol, then slowly pour the red soap – what will be the snow globe “base” – into each cavity until filled. Spritz again with alcohol and allow to solidify.

Once the snow globe soaps have completely set up, remove them from the mold cavities and wrap tightly with professional plastic food wrap film. This will keep them from sweating. Then label and add any other additional packaging as desired and they are ready to gift! These snow globe soaps make great homemade stocking stuffers. Or gift them in a box of other fantastic treats for the holidays!
