I love handmade gifts because they come from the heart. I believe that when I’m making something for a loved one, I’m putting good thoughts, good energy and good wishes into what I am making, so that the recipient gets all that goodness. I am a crafter/artist, and I think there is more quality in the things I hand make than there is in mass produced/store bought items. They may be cute, but they are not one of a kind, like the gifts I make. This year I am making bath and beauty products for my family. And I might add some hand knitted and hand crocheted scarves and/or hats, and wash cloths to go with the bath products I am making.

I’m not very crafty so I buy handmade crafts instead, especially when it comes to beauty products. I love handmade for several reasons… it’s not made by a large commercial enterprise, my money is going to a small business or an individual and not to some greedy multinational corporation, it’s easier to find products with fewer ingredients and just those ingredients I want, I enjoy knowing that someone took the time and made the effort to make this particualr item… it’s not just one of a large batch made by a machine. Then too the handmade items I buy are made in America not in China and I prefer to keep my dollars at home and not help boost our trade deficit, not to mention if the item is made in the USA I can be mostly assured that slave labour was not used to make it. To me how an item is made is as important as the price, handmade items are one way I can live up to and support my principles and each handmade item is individual, each a little different and I like that. Thanks for the giveaway.

I love handmade things because they cost less money and they are usually made with love and are more personal.
