Easy DIY Washi Tape Decorated Gift Tin for Spring Birthdays or Easter Basket Gifts

Looking for a handmade gift idea for a spring birthday or Easter basket? This easy DIY washi tape decorated gift tin is simple to make and is perfect for holding two homemade roll on perfumes, lip balms or guest soaps! All you need is an empty empty altoid tin and two complimentary spring themed rolls of washi tape.

DIY Washi Tape Craft Project for a Decorative Gift Tin

Run strips of one washi tape design along the top and the sides of the tin. Then with the coordinating tape, wrap a strip along the edge and top of the tin. You can also outline the separation with permanent markers, adding designs if you like, to add a bit more pizazz.

Now fill your tin with your gifts of choice. I found that my homemade roll on perfumes fit perfectly inside this tin. You can find recipes for my DIY Red Velvet Cake Perfume Oil here. Or make my Tempestuous Roll On Cologne for Men from my fragrance recipe here. Don’t feel limited by these two fragrances though. You can use any skin safe fragrance oil you’re a fan of in lieu of the scents mentioned. For spring you may want to try a collection of floral fragrances like lavender, jasmine or lilacs.

DIY Tempestuous Roll On Cologne for Men

DIY Cologne for Men - Tempestuous Cologne Recipe - Easy Homemade Gift Idea for Men - Also Make Great DIY Wedding Favors for the GuysThere’s a cologne fragrance for men called Fierce that’s distributed via Abercrombie & Fitch. However, in light of their recent negative press, you might be wary about making future purchases from them. Regardless of your stance, their cologne, Fierce, is still a great fragrance for men. But you don’t have to buy it because now you can actually DIY it. Very recently a dupe of this Abercrombie fragrance was developed as a fragrance oil. So not only can you now make your own handmade colognes for men with this great scent, you can also use the fragrance oil to produce other men’s products with this fragrance including homemade soaps, lotions and other masculine skin care products.

Following is a recipe for making your own Fierce-like cologne using a fragrance oil dupe created by Nature’s Garden called Ferocious Beast. Of course, I came up with my own name for this fragrance as well and dubbed mine Tempestuous. You can call yours whatever you like. But if you dig the name Tempestuous, I have created free printable labels for you to use on your own cologne oils you create with this recipe.

Nature Garden’s Ferocious Beast fragrance oil contains citrusy top-notes of orange, lemon and lime, leading to middle notes of rosemary, jasmine, lily of the valley, vetiver  and rose and finishing a woody, oakmoss and white musk base note. Create these as diy wedding favors or homemade stocking stuffer gifts for the guys.

Other fragrances for men you may be interested in trying include The Perfect Man, Game On, and Bay Rum. (Buy any 5 16oz. fragrance oils and receive a $1 off per container from Nature’s Garden.)

How to Make Perfume Oils - DIY Handmade Red Velvet Cake Perfume Oil Recipe with Printable Labels - Lovely Handmade Wedding Favor Idea

Dying to wear your favorite soap or candle fragrance with you everywhere you go? Then make your own homemade perfume oils. It’s easy to find many of your favorite fragrances and fragrance dupes online. One company in particular, Nature’s Garden Wholesale Candle & Soap Supplies, offers a wide selection of fragrance oils perfect for using in your own homemade soaps and perfumes. They also carry one of my favorite all time fragrances, Red Velvet Cake, as well as the fragrance oil, Democrat, that I use in one of my bestselling handmade soaps, the Big Lick Salt Bar (recipe here.) Their fragrance oils come in sizes as small as 1oz. so it’s easy to mix and match new fragrances you want to try. Or you can go big and save $1 off per 16 oz. bottle of fragrance oil when you buy five or more. (It’s easy to get addicted!)

The following recipe is for crafting your own homemade perfume oils. I’ve simplified the recipe so there’s no need for a scale as you don’t have to weigh any ingredients. I made this recipe with Nature Garden’s Red Velvet Cake Fragrance Oil, but you can substitute it with any skin safe fragrance oil of your choice. These are perfect for making custom handmade wedding favors or as handmade stocking stuffer gifts. Plus, you can whip these up in about ten minutes or less. For your convenience I’ve also created printable labels for your perfume oils – both in black & white and color – to give your homemade gifts a professional touch.
