Handmade Lip Balm Recipes
Basic Lip Balm Recipe
Ingredients:
1.25 oz Beeswax
1.5 oz Shea Butter
1.1 oz Apricot Kernel Oil
1.1 oz Sweet Almond Oil
0.05 oz Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
Instructions:
Melt ingredients together in a pyrex measuring cup in the microwave. Add flavoring to taste, if desired. Pour into lip balm tubes or tubs. Makes approx. 20 1/4 oz lip balms. Find supplies at Mountain Rose Herbs.
Honey-Kissed Lip Balm Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup sweet almond oil*
1/2 cup beeswax**
2 Tbsp. honey
Instructions:
Place almond oil and beeswax in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute or until mixture melts. Whisk honey into beeswax mixture; stir well. Set aside to cool completely. When cool, pour into small containers with lids. Apply to lips as a moisturizer or on top of lipstick for extra shine. Makes about 11/2 cups.
*Sweet almond oil can be found at natural food stores.
**Beeswax can be purchased at craft and beekeeping stores.
Cold Sore Lip Balm Recipe
This lip balm is great for clearing up cold sores as well as for soothing cracked lips!
Ingredients:
1 oz. Emu Oil
1 oz. Almond Oil
1 oz. Avocado Oil
1/2 oz. Beeswax
1 tsp. Aloe Vera Liquid
6 drops Lavender Essential Oil
3 drops Tea Tree Oil
3 drops Sweet Orange Essential Oil
Instructions:
Heat oils and beeswax in a double boiler until the beeswax has melted. Remove from heat, and allow to cool slightly. Stir in aloe vera, lavender, tea tree, and sweet orange essential oils. Pour into lip balm container, and allow to cool completely. Find supplies at Mountain Rose Herbs.

Can you sub/omit the Sweet Almond oil? I have allergies and can’t have the stuff. Thanks!

You can use any carrier oil in its place.
