I love Halloween. And not just because it falls on my favorite season of the year. There’s just something beautifully spooky about Halloween. With roots and traditions that began with the ancient Celtic fall harvest, Halloween is a time for celebration and remembrance.
For some perhaps, there’s a chance (or a hope) that one will reunite with the souls of the dead. These traditions, in turn, have led to creative Halloween displays and parties in modern times – including things we probably couldn’t quite pull off during other times of the year.
I don’t often miss the chance to take part in Halloween festivities. There’s just something both mysterious and magical about the chance to become someone else for a day. The parties and costume contests, decorations and night life are a compliment to this. While the chance to scare the bejesus out of someone can also be appealing. (Bwahahaha.)
