Flower Water Recipes for a Natural Fragrance for Your Home & Body

Natural Flower Water Recipes
Made using a combination of natural flowers, herbs and essential oils, these healthy homemaking recipes are perfect for room sprays to freshen laundry, linens and the air. Lavender Flower Water Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup distilled water
2 1/2 tablespoons vodka
10 drops lavender essential oil
1/2 cup fresh or dried lavender buds (no stems)
Instructions:
Sterilize a canning jar in boiling water. Allow to dry or dry carefully without touching inside of jar. Put lavender buds in jar. Pour water and vodka over buds. Stir with a stainless steel spoon. Add essential oil, seal and put in cool, dark place for one week. Swirl contents every other day. strain liquid through cheesecloth or coffee filter. Put perfume water into dark (blue or amber) bottle. Will keep for one year.
Orange Flower Water Recipe
Ingredients:
16 ounces distilled water
2 ounces vodka
25 drops essential oil of bergamot
14 drops essential oil of sweet orange
Instructions:
In a glass bottle, add the distilled water, vodka and oils. Seal and store the bottle in a cool, dark place for 1 -2 weeks, gently swirling the product every few days. Shake well before using.
Hungary Flower Water Recipe
Ingredients:
1 T. rosemary
1 tsp. mint leaves
Grated peel of 1/4 lemon
Grated peel of 1/4 orange
1/4 cup vodka
1/2 cup rosewater
Instructions:
Steep 2 weeks; filter and bottle.
Rose Flower Water Recipe
Ingredients:
3 cups rose petals
3 cups purified water
Instructions:
Pick the rose petals just after the dew has been dried by the morning sun. Place in a glass or porcelain container and pour boiling water over the petals. Allow to steep for two days, stirring frequently. Strain and bottle. (You can purchase certified organic essential oils, herbs and flowers from Mountain Rose Herbs.)
