This pink lemonade lip scrub with sugar is simply luscious! Made with lip safe mica and a sweetened pink lemonade flavor oil, this homemade lip scrub recipe with sugar is suitable for both your body and your lips! Give it a try today for a delicious addition to your summer skin care routine for natural beauty.
Why Use a Lip Scrub with Sugar?
Believe it or not, your summer skin care routine can have a lot in common with your winter skin routine. If you spend a lot of time in the sun, then you know you need to drink more water and moisturize skin. The same can be said for your lips! The sun, like dry winter air, can dry out your lips and cause chapping. A homemade lip scrub with sugar, like my pink lemonade lip scrub, is an easy natural solution to remedy dry or chapped lips from overexposure to the sun.
Using a homemade lip scrub with sugar not only exfoliates your lips to slough off dead skin cells, it also hydrates lips to help replenish lost moisture. Therefore, with regular use, my pink lemonade lip scrub with sugar will make your lips appear softer, more supple and healthy.
So what are you waiting for? Slather this pink lemonade lip scrub on to your heart’s desire in or out of the tub. You can also increase the recipe for a homemade body scrub to exfoliate and soften skin for summer!

Lip Scrub Ingredients:
.75 oz. refined cocoa butter
.25 oz. emulsifying wax
.75 oz. sunflower oil or sweet almond oil
4.5 oz. white granulated sugar
1/8th teaspoon candy apple red crystal mica powder
.15 oz. sweetened pink lemonade flavor oil
How to Make a DIY Lip Scrub
Begin by using a digital scale to weigh out the cocoa butter and emulsifying wax into a heat safe container. (I used a 2 cup glass Pyrex measuring cup.) Heat in either a double boiler or in the microwave at 50% power until melted.
Next, weigh out the sunflower (or sweet almond) oil and stir it into the melted butter and wax.
Follow with the pink lemonade flavor oil, weighing it then stirring into the liquid oil, butter and wax.
Now weigh out the sugar into a separate container.
Measure out the candy apple red mica powder (or similar lip safe mica) and mix it into the sugar with a fork until the color is evenly distributed.
Pour the colored sugar into the liquid ingredients and mix thoroughly with a fork.
Divide the pink lemonade lip scrub with sugar equally between two 2.3 oz. clear glass thick wall cosmetic jars with black lined caps or similar. (I got my jars from SKS Bottle & Packaging here.)
Then screw the caps onto the jars of your homemade lip scrub with sugar and label as desired for personal use or gifting.
To use this pink lemonade lip scrub, simply massage onto wet lips then rinse off.
Guidelines for Selling Homemade Lip Scrubs
If you’re planning to make my pink lemonade lip scrub recipe to sell, then you’ll need to label them according to FDA guidelines. If you are unsure about labeling laws then I highly recommend the book, Soap and Cosmetic Labeling: How to Follow the Rules and Regs Explained in Plain English, by Marie Gale.
