Mermaid Body Wash DIY with Glitter for Your Little Mermaid
Whether your daughter is dressing up as a mermaid for Halloween or playtime, she can feel like a mermaid everyday with this easy 3-ingredient glitter mermaid body wash!
This glittery mermaid body wash is the perfect incentive for bath time. Made using earth friendly biodegradable glitter, this easy body wash recipe is ready to go in just five minutes. So no matter how busy your schedule is between work, home and the kids, you’ll be able to squeeze this project in!
Mermaid Body Wash Recipe
Ingredients:
16 oz. Stephenson Suspending Body Wash Base
.4 oz. skin safe fragrance oil of choice
1/2 teaspoon standard biodegradable cosmetic glitter, color of choice
Instructions:
Be sure to let your daughter help with this easy bath and body project. Not only does it allow you to sneak in some extra one-on-one bonding time, but she’ll be even more excited to try out her new mermaid body wash! (You can also surprise her with a kid-friendly soapmaking book to further encourage her creativity!)
Using a digital scale, weigh out 16 oz. of suspending body wash base.
Next, weigh out your fragrance oil of choice and stir into the body wash base. (I recommend using a fragrance oil that does not have a yellow tint and is free of vanilla as it will affect the color of your final product.)
Now measure out the glitter and mix into the scented body wash base.
Using a small funnel, fill two 8 oz. body wash bottles, then cap and label as desired.
I used frosted bottles for my mermaid body wash which made the glitter hard to detect through the container. However you can use 8 oz. white bottles or 8 oz. clear bottles based on your packaging preference.
