How to Make a Hair Gel Recipe
This natural lemon mint hair gel recipe is made using only natural ingredients and has a fresh lemon mint scent. Formulated using castor oil, this natural hair gel recipe helps to encourage hair growth while also giving your hair flexible hold.
The addition of fractionated coconut oil also allows my hair gel recipe to help manage frizz while also adding to hair’s natural strength and shine. Lemon Mint Hair Gel Recipe
Ingredients:
You will need the following ingredients to make this homemade hair gel:
- 8 oz. hot distilled water
- .1 oz. Knox gelatin
- 1 mL castor oil
- 1 mL fractionated coconut oil
- 1 mL steam distilled lemon essential oil
- 1 mL peppermint essential oil
- .1 oz. optiphen (preservative)
How to Make Homemade Hair Gel
Here is how to make homemade hair gel:
- Measure out the hot water. Then weigh out the gelatin using a digital scale.
- Dissolve the gelatin in hot water. Stir until the mixture thickens, adding more gelatin, if desired, until you reach the desired consistency.
- Using a graduated transfer pipette, add the coconut and castor oil to the gelatin. Mix well.
- Now add the essential oils and the preservative. Stir to thoroughly incorporate the ingredients throughout the hair gel mixture.
- Fill an 8 oz. bottle with your hair gel, then use as desired to style and tame your hair.
