Scented with a red velvet cake fragrance oil, these easy DIY perfumes are incredibly quick to make! Enjoy lasting fragrances when you create your own scents at home!
DIY Perfume Oils
Ever wondered how to make your own perfumes at home? Perfume oils are extremely simple to make unless you are creating your own unique fragrance blends from scratch. Otherwise it can get a little complicated perfecting a fragrance formula that you love.
While the base oil for crafting your own DIY fragrances can seem a little high starting out, you can actually make a lot of scents with the ingredients. Not to mention, the end result is totally worth it. And you’ll never have to go without your favorite scent blend again.
My son and I made these easy, two-ingredient fragrances together as a homemade holiday gift for his step-sisters. Not only was it a super thoughtful homemade gift, but it was also a lot of fun. Learn how to make your own perfume below with a red velvet cake fragrance.
Red Velvet Cake Perfume Recipe
Make your homemade perfume that smells like red velvet cake! This amazing fragrance smells just like you’d imagine! It’s a wonderful scent with top notes of dark chocolate, strawberry syrup, and red currant; followed by middle notes of cocoa powder, buttermilk, and sugar cane; while sitting on base notes of creamy sandalwood, Tonka bean, and vanilla extract. It’s a great scent to wear everyday!
This easy 2-ingredient recipe shows you how to make custom fragrances using your favorite scents.
Custom Fragrance Ingredients:
These are the ingredients you will need to create scented perfume oil with a red velvet cake fragrance:
- 1/2 oz. Jojoba Oil
- 4 mL Red Velvet Cake Fragrance Oil
Supplies & Materials:
In addition to the ingredients you need to make this fragrance, you’ll also need these materials and supplies:
- Empty Bottles with Caps (Or your container of choice)
- Graduated Plastic Transfer Pipettes
- Digital Kitchen Scale (Using the right measurements ensures the fragrance oil is properly diluted.)
- Small Glass Measuring Cup
How to Make Perfume Oil
Here is how to make a fabulous red velvet cake perfume to enjoy:
In a small glass container, weigh out 1/2 oz. – or approximately 14 grams – of jojoba oil. Next, using a graduated plastic pipette, measure out 4 mL of your fragrance oil and stir into the jojoba oil.
Now, using a plastic pipette, fill your containers and tightly screw on the caps. Don’t restrict this recipe to simply a red velvet cake fragrance though. You can use any body safe fragrance oils that you’ve fallen in love with!
Finally, you can give your diy handmade perfume vials a decorative touch by adding a small strip of washi tape around the bottle. Customize the washi tape based on the season, the scent, or even to coordinate with your wedding theme colors!
Wrap your small homemade holiday gifts, stocking stuffers or wedding favors in these delightful decorative pillow boxes for the perfect presentation. You can easily dress your DIY perfume oils up by gifting them in Kraft Pillow Boxes you’ve decorated with scrapbooking papers and ribbon. These gift boxes can then be saved by the recipient and re-used again for other special occasion gifts! Plus they fit so neatly inside a Christmas stocking for stocking stuffers!
