Natural Coconut Oil Body Scrub Recipe

Ingredients:

3.5 oz. refined coconut oil
.5 oz. walnut hull powder (or apricot kernel meal)
36 drops essential oil of choice, optional

Instructions:

I used refined coconut oil for this coconut oil body scrub recipe which has no scent. However, if you’d like a coconut scent you can use unrefined/virgin coconut oil instead. Both have a melt point of about 76°F so if you’re home is warm you’ll want to store this in the fridge in between uses.

To make this coconut oil body scrub recipe you’ll need to begin by weighing out the coconut oil using a digital scale. Place into a microwave safe bowl and heat 10-20 seconds to just barely soften the coconut oil from it’s solidified state. You don’t want it to melt, however, so don’t overheat it!

Now weigh out the walnut hull powder and combine with the coconut oil. Use a fork to mash the walnut hull powder and coconut oil until the walnut hull powder is fully incorporated into the coconut oil.

Using a transfer pipette or dropper, add your choice of essential oil if desired and mix again.

Use a spatula to spoon your finished coconut oil body scrub into a 4 oz. glass jar. I used a 4 oz. Ball jelly jar but you can also use a glass salve jar.

To use simply slather onto wet skin in the shower then rinse off with warm water and pat dry.
