8 Last Minute Mother’s Day Gift Ideas to DIY
If you stay crazy busy like me, then there’s a good chance you meant to make a homemade gift for Mother’s Day but, well, it hasn’t happened yet. So just in case you can squeeze in an hour to get your craft on, here are a few last minute Mother’s Day gift ideas you can DIY.
Last Minute Mother’s Day Gifts to DIY
These DIY Himalayan Pink Salt + Rosemary Bath Bombs via Under A Tin Roof are a great way to give mom the permission she too often feels she needs – I mean we were all demanding kids, right? – to wind down and relax. And chances are you’ll be able to source all of the ingredients locally between your grocer and/or your local co-op.
Alternately, these DIY Rose + Lavender Bath Bombs via Lauren Conrad are also lovely and contain ingredients that should be a little bit easier to gather if you don’t live close to a major city.
If you’re a thrift store queen, then these DIY Mother’s Day Teacup Planters via Housewives of Frederick County may be right up your alley – and mom’s! (I mean, you got it from somewhere, right?) All you’ll need is a vintage teacup or two, some potting soil and succulents. The pretty Mother’s Day gift tags are also cake! Just download the free printable created by designer, Lindsey Swink, of Bare Ink Co.
My own DIY Scented Dry Oil Body Spray is also perfect for gifting. In fact, with just a few simple ingredients, all there is to this DIY is to weigh the ingredients then mix! No heating required and you’re completely done with this project in ten minutes or less. Plus I’ve also included free printable labels for easy gifting.
If you’re a soapmaker and have an entire arsenal of soapmaking supplies taking over your kitchen, then you may want to consider making my DIY Coffee + Black Tea Under Eye Cream. Because no matter what, most moms get run ragged when we’re kids and then spend their empty nest years trying to counteract the accelerated aging we put them through. (Well, probably not really, but moms like to joke.)
This handy dandy anti-aging cream helps to brighten and wake up tired eyes while visibly reducing the appearance of fine lines, dark circles and under eye bags. My foaming ginger & turmeric face polish recipe would also make a pretty sweet addition to mom’s anti-aging arsenal.
Salt scrubs are always a winner in the gift department. This homemade hibiscus salt scrub recipe is a snap to pull together and is made with exfoliating sea salt and hibiscus flowers as well as moisturizing cocoa butter and safflower oil to pamper and help to soften and clarify skin.
My DIY Strawberry + Chocolate Fudge Solid Sugar Scrub Bars make yet another mom approved gift! These were a hit with EVERYONE when I gifted them over Christmas, but the fantastic chocolate strawberry scent means you can gift them year round for any occasion. Alternately, swapping out the fragrance choice is a breeze.
Personally, I’m crushing over this DIY Fluted Clay Trinket Dish via Make and Tell. All you need is a mini fluted cake pan, some Fimo air dry clay, varnish and a few tools and you have yourself a beautiful home decor piece that mom can stash her rings or keys in.
