Essential Oil Anti-Acne Roller Ball Recipe
If you have a new teenager struggling with acne, or like me, you realized that acne doesn’t end with adulthood, then you must try this essential oil anti-acne roller ball recipe!
Natural Acne Remedy with Essential Oils
This amazing natural essential blend is perfect for spot treating acne. And, because it’s formulated with black cumin seed oil in addition to an anti-acne blend of essential oils, it also targets inflammation to reduce swelling and promotes skin regeneration and health.
You may recall me discussing black cumin seed oil previously on my recipe posts for making ginger mint soap or a soothing rosacea cream (via my guest post at The Nourished Life blog.)
While black cumin seed oil is a less commonly known carrier oil, it is a carrier oil worth taking the time to get to know. It has some really amazing benefits when used in skin care applications as it is rich in vitamins, minerals, Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids and amino acids.
As black cumin seed oil is also a moisturizing oil, I feel that this oil is especially suited for dry, maturing or combination skin prone to occasional acne breakouts. However, should you like to explore other options, I also like moringa oil, jojoba oil or camellia (tea seed) oil as a substitute.
Following is my essential oil anti-acne roller ball recipe. Plus be sure to check out my stimulating essential oil blend further down for those days you need a little pick me up. (Or check out my recipe for an aromatherapy roll for rest and relaxation here.)
Essential Oil Anti-Acne Roller Ball Recipe
Ingredients:
10 mL black cumin seed oil
6 drops neem oil (optional)
2 drops lavender essential oil
2 drops tea tree essential oil
1 drop ylang ylang essential oil
1 drop bergamot essential oil
1 drop carrot seed essential oil
1 drop frankincense essential oil
Instructions:
Using a clean glass dropper or pipette, add the neem oil and each of the essential oils to a sterilized 10 mL glass roller bottle.
Next, fill the roller bottle up the bottom of the neck with black cumin seed oil. Then place the roller ball and lid onto the bottle and shake well to mix.
To use, roll directly onto affected area.
It is important to note that refrigeration (or a controlled temperature environment) is recommended for black cumin seed oil. However, if refrigeration is not your preference, I recommend adding a few drops of rosemary antioxidant (to help prevent rancidity) to this essential oil anti-acne roller ball recipe.
