Best Natural Skin Care Products for Acne Prone Skin (To Buy or DIY)
Need help getting your acne under control? Then you’ll love this collection of the best natural skin care products for acne prone skin! Whether you choose to buy or DIY your own anti-acne treatments, these natural skin care products help to treat and prevent acne.
Darn Those Wacky Hormones
When I was a teenager I always assumed that I would grow out of my acne. Sadly, that was not the case. I had terrible acne flare ups throughout my thirties. Some of which were hormonal. Others were due to stress. I figured that in my forties I could finally kiss acne goodbye. Well, no one told me about perimenopause.
It’s like my entire life since I turned twelve has been plagued by hormone changes. And now I’m stuck with yet another bout of insane hormone surges. Surges that not only cause worsening acne, but also ridiculous mood swings, fatigue, hot flashes, worsened premenstrual syndrome and tender ta ta’s.
Lucky for me perimenopause only lasts an average of four to ten years. (Please insert sarcasm here.) After that, without some type of hormone therapy, it’s completely plausible that I’ll be able to grow a beard. But hey, at least they have contests for that!
(Incidentally, if you are also struggling with perimenopause, I’ve found several natural supplements that work for me. Ashwagandha root, a B-complex with ginseng and evening primrose are great for increasing energy, preventing hot flashes and improving stress response.)
For the most part I’m able to prevent most of my acne with the right skin care products – with one hold out. My chin seems to be completely immune to nearly everything I’ve tried. And with summer here, I feel like I constantly have a volcano erupting somewhere on my face. Especially since I sweat like a teenage boy.

I don’t sell any products that I make. I just create recipes to share. However, you’d have to contact each seller individually for the products for sale to see if they have sample products for sale.
