Instead, it’s made using natural ingredients like cocoa butter and coconut oil to hydrate lips so they look and feel healthy!
This strawberry lip balm recipe also includes a touch of strawberry flavor oil for extra fun, though the scent is optional. And, if desired, you can also add a bit of pink colorant to give lips a sheer to bold color tint – you choose!

Ingredients:
.3 oz. beeswax pastilles
.3 oz. cocoa butter (refined or unrefined for a hint of chocolate)
.25 oz. refined (76° melt point) coconut oil
.25 oz. sweet almond oil
5mL strawberry flavor oil
red orange oil locking mica shimmer, to suit
Instructions for Making My Strawberry Lip Balm Recipe:
You will need a digital scale to weigh out the ingredients for my strawberry lip balm recipe. As well as a few additional materials including heat safe containers, pipettes and of course, lip balm tubes!
Using a digital scale weigh out the beeswax pastilles and cocoa butter. Combine in a small glass Pyrex measuring cup and heat at 50% power until the ingredients have melted. (Optionally you may also use a double boiler.) Be careful removing the Pyrex from the microwave – use a towel or pot holder – as it will be hot!
Next, weigh out the coconut oil and sweet almond oil into a small 50mL glass or plastic beaker. (These beakers make filling your lip balm tubes so much easier!) Pour the melted cocoa butter and beeswax into the beaker with the coconut oil and sweet almond oil. Mix with a fork or other thin utensil until the coconut oil has melted completely.
Now, using a graduated transfer pipette, measure out 5 mL of strawberry flavor oil and stir into the lip balm mixture.
Finally, if desired, add the mica for color. Add about 1/8th of a teaspoon for a sheer tint, more for a darker color. Mix thoroughly.
Now pour the strawberry lip balm mixture evenly into 8 empty lip balm tubes and allow to cool completely. Then cap and label as desired.

I totally agree, I am so into the DIY lip balms and lip sticks. My mom even gets me to make her lip balms and I plan on doing it as a career.
